VIDEO: Countdown to Tha Carter III, Part 3
Ten days...
VIDEO: G-Unit - "Rider, Pt. 2"
I'm always reluctant to post anything 50-related, but I'll hand it to Curtis here that this is a dope track. Either that, or everything with a vocoder sounds amazing. Probably the latter...

MJ feat. Sean Kingston - She Makes Me Feel
Disclaimer: MJ is not "the" MJ. Frankly, I think it's lame to even name yourself this. It's a complete disrespect to the greatest pop star ever. That's right, ain't shit changed since 1982.
Nonetheless, solid pre-game summer song...right?

PS How straight does the real MJ look in that photo? He was still pimpin' back in '88!
John Legend feat. Andre 3000 - Green Light (Snippet)

V.I.C. (featuring everybody) - Get Silly Remix
I flat-out despised this song when it first dropped...but just like any other song that doesn't disappear from the radio, it eventually grows on you. I still hate Soulja Boy, though.

VIDEO: T.I. laughs off Shawty Lo
I haven't been posting anything on this Shawty Lo vs. T.I. debacle, mainly because I don't think there's much to talk about. If you have no idea what I'm referring to, check out YouTube or some shit.
Anywho, I thought this interview with Sway from MTV was worth posting, and hopefully the rivalry (or lack thereof) will end on this note. Frankly, who gives a shit where T.I. is from?

I'm a closet Twista fan. Oops, I guess the secret's out.

Robin Thicke - Magic
Rarely will I post a song that isn't meant for sharing, and/or if it's available legally (i.e. on iTunes). But damn, Thicke killed it on this one.
This version isn't very high-quality, but what can you do...album in stores at the end of the summer.

Crack is (still) whack
Let me set the scene for you here: We are in crackhead Pete Doherty's house, and crackhead)Amy Winehouse is seated to your right as she attempts to play guitar. That's Amy's goddaughter singing, as the two cover Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You." Wow, I really am speechless for this one.
New T-Pain album due in September
This from Billboard:
T-Pain is eyeing a Sept. 30 release for his third album, "Thr33 Ringz," which will be released by Konvict Muzik/Zomba. The first single, "Snap You Fingers" featuring Lil' Wayne, is expected to hit radio next month.
And that's how I will end the day's posts. What up, Andy?

Kenna feat. Lupe Fiasco - Say Goodbye to Love

LL Cool J feat. Lil' Mo - I Cry

What did John McCain say to Young Jeezy?
New York Magazine had a hilarious caption for this video, from the end of last weekend's SNL finale:
It took the closing seconds of this weekend's actually pretty funny season finale of Saturday Night Live to finally bring these two titans together, one the Republican nominee for president, the other a crack rapper of platinum sales and dubious lyrical ability. John McCain was there for a spot on "Weekend Update," and Young Jeezy came to do his verse of musical guest Usher's "Love in This Club," but, happily, both appeared onstage together during host Steve Carell's signoff. After the senator finishes speaking to Usher, (around the twenty-second mark), he turns, pats Jeezy on the stomach, and says something — but what? "I love that song 'Go Getta'"? "How are things in the trap these days?" "I have to be leaving, but I won't let that come between us, okay?" Sadly, the world may never know.

Polow Da Don named Songwriter of the Year
This, from HipHopDX:
BMI held its 56th annual Pop Awards Tuesday night, and the top honor went to Polow Da Don. The former Jim Crow member, who has reinvented himself an A-list pop producer, was named Songwriter of the Year. Polow saw at least four songs which he either shared writing and or production credits on spend over 10 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Fergie's singles "London Bridge" and "Glamorous" spent 12 weeks and 17 weeks on the charts respectively, pushing her album, The Dutchess, past double-platinum sales. The Pussycat Dolls "Buttons" peaked at number three and also spent 39 weeks on the Hot 100. Meanwhile, Rich Boy's platinum-selling single "Throw Some D's" peaked at number one while spending 22 weeks on the Hot 100. Polow also crafted hits for Young Buck, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Ciara and R. Kelly. Previous winners of the award include Sean "The Pen" Garrett (2007), Lil John (2006), Irv Gotti (2003).
Saigon splits with Atlantic
"I'm not that excited about going to a major label," Saigon says. "They would have to make it so I'm set for the rest of my life. They want too much for the little that they're giving."
Read all about it here. I wonder if dude will ever put out this album? Anywho, here's a new track from Turtle's bitch:

Remember The Name: Lykke Li
I'm not quite sure if it's a) the move to San Francisco, b) being in the long-dist relaysh, or c) not being around a frat house for awhile, but I've been listening to a lot more female singers lately. Probably a combination of all three...just don't tell my pledge trainer.
Granted, many of these songstresses (Adele, Duffy, Sia, etc.) have actual talent and are far more gifted than the Britneys and Jessicas from middle school...so I can't feel that bad about it, right?
Anywho, my latest flavor of the week is Lykke Li. Her new EP is currently available on iTunes for under 4 bucks; the album drops soon.
Did my balls just get smaller?

Chili's + Music
This, from Fox Business:
Accessible via the "Fun" section of the Chili's Grill & Bar website, the new Chili's Radio Network features new artists, great hits and contemporary music designed to "Pepper In Some Fun" throughout a listeners' day, wherever they are. While in-restaurant music is programmed for specific times of day and customized for restaurants by location, the far-reaching nature of web radio gives Chili's the ability to help listeners discover new music by supplementing its playlists with unique, lesser known tracks and artists.
This isn't really exciting news, but any excuse to write about the best restaurant known to man. And I can totally go for some queso right about now...
Nas changes controversial album title
A representative for Def Jam has confirmed to EW.com that hip-hop artist Nas has made an eleventh-hour decision to change the title of his new album from N----- to simply Nas.
I wonder if Nas will fight this at all.
