Listen: there are way too many good bands for me to recommend this week if you're in ATX for South by Southwest. E-mail me if you really wanna know the scoop. Nonetheless, I will offer two suggestions:
1. I know you cheap fuckers don't wanna pay for any shows -- for a cool FREE show, go to Auditorium Shores on Saturday and check out Ice Cube and Talib Kweli. Outdoor Austin, hip-hop, FREE? Triple-threat, right there.
2. Like I said, there are way too many bands to tell you about, but for the best hodgepodge of electro bands, go to the IHeartComix/Mad Decent showcase on Friday (flyer above). From headliner Diplo, down to The Hood Internet at the very bottom, you may recognize a lot of those names from this very blog. It's all day (2 p.m to 2 a.m.), so if you have any time, any time at all, go there.
Very jealous I won't be attending this year. See y'all at SxSW '09.
