Nat King Cole: Remixed

Two new joints off Re:Generations, a forthcoming Nat King Cole remix project. Album hits stores on March 10.

My parents played "Unforgettable" pretty much on loop when I was a kid, so Nat's a permanent fixture in my music encyclopedia. Looking forward to this release very much.

?uestlove Interview with DJ Semtex

SEMTEX TV - ?UESTLOVE BREAKS DOWN THE HOTTEST MC'S FOR 09' from DJ SEMTEX on Vimeo.

I usually don't post interviews because most of them are pretty lame...but not this one!

Quest calls out Jim Jones, Ron Browz, and HSIC (of H-Town!) as some of the names to watch in '09.

The Roots on Yo Gabba Gabba

Who would've ever dreamed this band would eventually end up on a popular children's TV show...what a long strange trip it's been for the legendary Roots crew.

The Roots: Video, Live Set, Article...and oh yeah, an album

That's right, Rising Down is finally here. While I'd love to spend paragraphs expressing my undying love for the album, I'll let you listen for yourself and check out some more Roots stuff.

First is this live session, recorded on Green Lantern's radio show. This video was recorded for the session, and a tracklist/link to the audio is below.

The Roots on The Colbert Report

Performing "The Star-Spangled Banner."
I never noticed how funny of a word "spangled" really is.

VIDEO: The Roots - "Birthday Girl"

Featuring Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. Of course, you won't find him or The Roots in this video, and the track *fortunately* got dumped from (the US version of) the album.

VIDEO: The Roots - In the Music

Previously unreleased video, an old track from the last album, Game Theory.
With all the live performance clips in there, you'd have to think I'm in there somewhere, yea? Totally. I'm sooo in the Roots video.

New Roots Single feat. WALE

That's right, my boy Wale is making it big-time. Dude's having quite a month -- first he signs with Interscope, now he's featured with Chrisette Michele on a track for the new Roots album, titled "Rising Up."
I can't link to the track myself, so check it out here on NahRight

The Roots nix Fall Out Boy track

From Okayplayer:

"We told you a few weeks ago that "Birthday Girl" could easily get dropped off of Rising Down. We received word over the weekend that the song is now the International Single and will be an iTunes exclusive. It will not appear on the North American release."

Thank God. I'm all for branching out and doing your thing, but I think we can all agree that was a step in the wrong direction.

The Roots feat. Patrick Stump - Birthday Girl

Despite releasing videos for two other tracks, this is apparently the first single from Rising Down. You read it correctly...Patrick Stump, the lead singer of Fall Out Boy. (Sound quality a bit on the crap-ola side, my b)
